| Wisconsin is full of great fishing opportunities. We have over 15,000 lakes, including 2 of the worlds largest bodies of fresh water. We have the Mighty Mississippi to the west, which is spectacular fishing. Ice fishing, fly fishing. We have it all. It's truly a blessing to be a Wisconsin Fisherman! |

| Wisconsin Fisherman recently held our first annual get together in Irvine Park, in Chippewa Falls. It was a great time, with plenty of fish to eat, and some fine beverage to wash it down. Here we salute one of our regulars who couldn't make it. This one's for you Whitey! |

| For any of you guys that still fish from shore or a boat for cats, salmon, sturgeon or whatever, here's a little tip that could save you from loosing a rod while you have your back turned for just one second or are trying to get a suds out of the cooler and a big fish hits and runs, taking your rod along with him. Tape a paper clip to the rod handle. Cast your bait out on the bottom and tighten up your line. Put the line in the paper clip and open your bail. If a fish hits and runs, he'll pull the line out of the clip, allow it to free spool and not go running off with your rod. This works well when fishing in current or when the wind is blowing hard and keeps the line from raveling. If you are using rod holders, it keeps them from breaking a rod off too. |

| 9-14-08 Hey Tom & Jim, thanks for coming out fishing. Had a great time fishing with you, even though I had to hang onto the steering wheel most of the morning in the wind.
